On 9 July 2025, Vinh Hiep joined partners in introducing a greenhouse-gas measurement project for coffee production in Gia Lai. The cooperation involved Mitsui, Ajinomoto and AGF and included work on biological organic fertiliser alongside measurement in coffee-growing systems.<\/p>\n

Building a basis for measurement<\/h2>\n

The project was announced with approximately USD 70,000 in support. Its purpose included collecting information and testing approaches that could inform the management of emissions in coffee production.<\/p>\n

Measuring production inputs and the activities taking place on farms can help participants understand the system being studied. A project of this type needs a defined period, methodology and boundary so that later findings can be interpreted correctly.<\/p>\n

Trial work and longer-term objectives<\/h2>\n

The cooperation connected fertiliser-related trials with the wider aim of improving the environmental performance of coffee production. The event also referred to Vietnam’s longer-term net-zero ambition for 2050.<\/p>\n

That ambition is a direction for future work. It should not be interpreted as a finding that the project’s coffee, the company or an individual shipment already has zero emissions.<\/p>\n

The July 2025 update records the project introduction. Results should be read from the subsequent study and supporting records, including the products, farms and activities included.<\/p>\n
