Bao Loc workshop launches a project to strengthen Vietnamese Robusta from the farm
On 24 July 2026, a workshop in Bao Loc, Lam Dong, introduced a project focused on improving Vietnamese Robusta from its production base. The event, reported by Tuoi Tre, brought together participants discussing the quality, value and market position of Vietnamese coffee.
Quality begins with the raw material
The workshop’s theme connected the development of Robusta with the work carried out at farm level. Harvesting, handling and the link between growers and downstream businesses all contribute to the material that reaches processors and buyers.

The project aimed to strengthen the position of Vietnamese Robusta and increase the value associated with the crop. The discussion looked beyond production volume to the information and practices needed to make quality more visible in the market.
Connecting production, assessment and markets
Participants discussed how standards, assessment and cooperation can support the industry’s development. Certification and export-market requirements were part of that conversation, alongside the role of businesses and growers in improving the value chain.
These discussions concerned the direction of a project and the needs of the sector. Requirements for a particular product still need to be checked against its specification, sample and applicable documentation.
