Infrastructure component launches for Central Highlands coffee sourcing areas
On 22 August 2023, an event at Vinh Hiep launched infrastructure work associated with Component 5 of the project supporting agricultural sourcing areas. Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam attended the programme, which focused on improving the connection between production areas and the coffee value chain.
Supporting cooperatives in Gia Lai and Dak Lak
The cooperatives named in the programme included Nghia Hoa, Ham Rong and Ia Ring in Gia Lai, and Ea Wy, Nghia Loc and Minh Toan Loi in Dak Lak. Infrastructure was intended to support production and the movement of agricultural goods in the participating areas.

Two construction contracts, with a combined reported value of approximately VND 63 billion, were associated with the launch. The work formed part of the effort to improve conditions for linked agricultural production.
Planned coverage and output
The programme referred to an expected area of 5,416 hectares and annual production of 16,260 tonnes. These were project expectations stated at the time of the launch, rather than figures establishing completed infrastructure or delivered output.
Vinh Hiep’s reported role included an offtake commitment. Linking an expected market with production and infrastructure was a central feature of the programme’s approach.

Connecting infrastructure and market access
Infrastructure, cooperative organisation and business participation need to work together if a sourcing-area project is to support growers effectively. The launch brought these elements into one programme and provided a point of reference for the activities planned next.
This report describes the August 2023 launch. Readers seeking the present position of a specific project or supply area should request an update for the relevant component and location. For a coffee purchase, origin and delivery requirements should be confirmed separately for the proposed product.
