Gia Lai launches high-quality coffee linkage project for 2021–2025
On 8 October 2021, a launch and signing event introduced a Gia Lai project linking participants in the production and consumption of high-quality coffee for 2021–2025. Vinh Hiep joined the programme, which connected production planning with processing and market requirements.
Bringing growers and businesses into one project
The event included representatives of the provincial agriculture sector and organisations participating in the coffee value chain. Luu Trung Nghia, then director of Gia Lai’s agriculture department, took part in the launch.
The project focused on a closer connection between growers, the quality of harvested material and the requirements of processing. Honey and natural processing were among the approaches discussed for the planned supply of ripe coffee cherries.
Production planning and agreements
The project plan referred to 1,500 tonnes of ripe cherries for honey and natural processing. At the launch, signed agreements were reported to cover approximately 98% of the planned quantity. These figures described the project plan and contracting position at that time, rather than a final production result.
Building a stronger quality connection
Linking the crop with a defined processing purpose helps participants discuss harvesting, handling and the quality expected by the buyer. The launch marked a starting point for cooperation over the project’s stated 2021–2025 period.
For buyers exploring current coffee options, the relevant next step is to compare the proposed product specification and sample. Project news gives background on cooperation in a growing area; the details of a present enquiry need to be confirmed for the actual supply.
